Heyo back again with more local beats that have taken my fancy over the last few days. This first one is reaching a little further than usual and in particular is one that will be getting a workout on my speakers. It's a bootleg of Lil John's 'Outta Your Mind' by WellSaid & Rubberteeth. These Adelaide producers have been releasing some funky tunes of late and this one has a funky style to it but its also hits so hard. Big big tune and I will be keeping my eyes on both these producers for more banging beats.
Check out Well Said's soundcloud here.
Check out Rubberteeths soundcloud here.

This next one is from Reece Low, hailing from sunny Frankston in Melbourne. This bootleg of his is free to download from his soundcloud page. Reece seems to be able to put out hit after hit and this one is no different. Capturing that melbourne sound this tune is a great club banger and is one that will no doubt be heard right around melbourne in the coming months. Reece is becoming perhaps the leader in melbourne music and has been playing headlining gigs every week. At only 21 his, star is on the rise!

Classy Beats from the Melbourne Streets. By Jungle Jim
First up today is a tune from Will Sparks. Satoshi Tomiie -The Darkness (Will Sparks Remix) is up there as my favourite tune atm, can't get enough of this one. Such a good vibe, combining my favourite elements of that melbourne sound, a tough off beat bass and some very classy trumpet. The drop on 1.30 brings a smile to my face and makes me wish it wasn't just a sample. Boss of a tune.
Satoshi Tomiie -The Darkness (Will Sparks Remix)
I will also share with you a very classy set released under a month ago by one of our own GBI DJ's, Horse. An underrated talent, the man is in it for the music and loves his beats, which shines through in his music. That coupled with a couple of my tunes and how could you go wrong!
Horse - Horse Housing
This one's a little older than I usually post having been released 2 months ago. While that may not seem like a long amount of time, these days, especially in electronic music, an artist is expected to release at least a song a month. High demands! The tune is War Horn by Trumpdisco. This is a beast of a tune. It hits so hard, the war horn sound before the drop is epic as, it makes me proud that these guys are from Melbourne. Such creative genious mixed with hard hitting beats is an absolute winner in my eyes. Feast on this !

Melbournes Best, Youngest and Most Under-rated. by Jungle Jim
Crankin it up again! As ive had my ear to the ground for a few months ive got some bangers to present to you from out best, youngest and most under-rated melbourne producers.
First up is a song by one of the most talented up-and-comers in Melbourne Chris Bullen. At 17 years of age what blows my mind is not only the listenability of his songs but the production skill that goes into them.
"Choon'd (Original Mix)" is a Melbourne House song of the highest quality. The drop on 18 seconds typifies that tough melbourne sound I have come to love. Countless doubters have thought melbourne house was a fad and that would be gone in a year, but it is still here stonger than ever. Eat your words! The kids love it and are making it as good as the pros. I will also chuck up his latest tune, a bootleg of Rihanna's 'Where Have You Been,' released a day ago. While i dont dig the choice of orig very much, the drop kicks ass and is packed with energy. It's also a free download from his soundcloud page.
Chris Bullen - Choon'd (Original Mix) - Extended Sample
Rihanna - Where Have You Been (Chris Bullen Bootleg/Remix)
Next one up is a banger by Reece Low. Reece has 49 tunes and counting up on his soundcloud account, smashing out a tune every couple of days recently. Check out his soundcloud here. The one im chucking up is a Michael White & Demary Feat Odille remix that has a really funky, heavy hitting drop. It has an element of Mike Metro is the main synth, that out of tune, high pitched sound. Anywho, you can pick it up on beatport through Elektroshok records. Enjoy!

L-Vis 2012 - MasterSys
Having just released a new EP titled Club Constructions Volume 1 on the Night Slugs label, L-Vis 1990 has become a firm favourite of mine as of late, this is a man who dives right into a genre and surfaces with pearls. Brining back the Old-School sounds is the mans game right here, from genres such as Techno, House and UK Garage he manages to recapture elements that I wished alot more artists were doing these days.
After a string of solid EP releases on labels such as Sound Pellegrino, Mad Decent and Night Slugs, and the funk-filled 80's-esque album Neon Dreams, L-Vis 1990 is just oozing creativty and productiveness. A man who's got alot of things going for him, and could end up being a big name in the years to come.
His latest release, Club Constuctions Volume 1 is packed with 5 Hard House-stomping tracks that's been described as " modern-day ghetto Hard House ", and it really does sound like it with this release. Hard Drive is a track that'll get peoples heads bopping with its solid structre and clever use of samples to pick it up, whilst Video Drone is fierce and will make you want to stomp the floorboards beneath you. I reccomend listening to the whole EP, whilst there's alot of releases that'll have a good track or two, this EP doesn't follow suit and contains very solid tracks to get you dancing.
Club Constuctions Volume 1 is out now on iTunes and Beatport.

If Fake blood was too Level Up, how pro could one be? - Horse
Theo Keating is such a talent in the music world, being electronic producers Fake Blood and DJ Touché, being part of duo The Black Ghosts, and having a successful hip hop career in the 90s with The Wise Guys...really no need to level up yet Fake bloods newest remix is again of such a high standard. Fake Blood follows a very distinctive sound, making his tracks easily recognisable but never stale. His remix with Level up becomes rather dark compared too the introducing melody but the element of surprise on his drops is what makes him a consistent dance floor people mover.
Finish mainman Sharkslayer is a name that when I see, I must hear. Having worked with labels like Top Billin', Trouble & Bass, Dim Mak, Southern Fried and Lektroluv to name a few, he has certainly been around in the industry. Sharkslayers tracks often sound familiar in my opinion, which is more of a credit to his production value rather than being a swipe at his creativity. He has produced some great party tracks ,such as his mix of Boom Riddim, which made him a solid act to support Mightyfools when they toured Melbourne 2010. The Trumpet is a really boppy, feel good track driven by an underlying bass, making for definite funsies.
Piano Bug is a song that really appealed to me because of its flow. The track builds from a simple piano melody getting ever so slightly distorted until some high end frequency pops in over the top. Throughout this process, the track never loses its original beat and mishes really well up to the 4.27 minute mark. His remix of Drop The Limes Shake Baby Shake was a good spin on the orginal, also worth a look.

Juice Juice Juice - Jungle Jim
My fellow GBI DJ's have been indisposed of late, so i will keep the blogging flowing!
Streching out for the first time to America, but still pursuing my never ending search for unkown talent, I came across a song by DJ Abap called 'Drop The Bass Like This.' It has a flavour that isn't unlike alot of the stuff coming out from the local melbourne artists like Reece Low, JDG and Kalus. Driving basslines coupled with an Dutch style synth line with plenty of reverb that is packed full of energy and would blasted out of plenty of club speakers in America. I will be keeping my eye out for more tunes by DJ Abap.
Check out his soundcloud profile, here.
DJ Abap - Drop The Bass Like This (Original Mix)
These next two songs are by a colleague of mine at JMC Academy, Karate Surfing. Karate Surfing has to be the most underrated, undiscovered talent I have ever come across. The two songs, 'Holiday' and 'Mango Juice' have a style that lends itself to his upbringing in Broome, WA. Summer flavours give them a happy, funky vibe and in each of the songs you can really hear the years of production skills and time that has gone into them. Mango Juice in particular is a favourite of mine. I love the vocals that go along with it, which are also done by Karate Surfing himself. The elements work perfectly together, complementing eachother, and while there is alot of detail in the song, no part seems out of place or overcomplicated. Love them both! Here they are :)

Out Of Bounds - Jungle Jim
Today I will bring you a few tunes that come further than my usual reach of Melbourne. These tunes are coming from the UK from a man under the name of 'The Puppet On Crack.' I posted one of his tracks in an earlier blog called 'The Puppet Theme.' To be honest there hasn't been one of his tunes that I've been 'Yeah thats good but his others are better'. Each one is unique in it's own way and has been put together with the utmost skill and care. This is all the more impressive because he has pumped out 9 tunes in the last 2 months. Woah! All of the sickest quality and vibe and if i could post everyone i would. Maybe I will in later blogs! Another thing that appeals to me about his music is just how underated he is, he has 529 followers on soundcloud, which should blody well have a few more zeros on the end.
First up is probly my favourite because of how creative this piece of music is. Remixing sounds from the video game Pacman to make something that doesn't just sound cool, but is a really banging bouncy track. Check it out.
The Puppet on Crack - PacMan (Original Mix)
This next one absoultely blew me away because it was the first demonstration of how diverse The Puppet on Crack's music is. Melodic chords build up amazingly into the most dick kicking acid drop that became an instant favourite of mine.
The Puppet on Crack - The Crack Attack (Original Mix)
The last song I will post of his before i blow my load his a tune called Suburb Beat - Happy Feet (The Puppet on Crack Remix). A cheeky tune that was only released 3 days ago and one that again illustrates the talent of the man. One other thing he does that caught my attention was that in every drop he will change the melody, or the rhythm, something that will keep the song fresh and listenable. Amazingly well demonstrated in the 2nd drop of this tune at 2.44.
